Inspiration: New Blog Find – Poppy Haus!

Hello Friends!

We’ve been busy bees prepping for our Spring weddings – we’ve got quite a few this season! And I seriously love Spring weddings – the flower options alone make me giddy! Ranunculus and I are BFFs.

I wanted to share some inspiration today via a new blog find. I have my go-to wedding blog reads, but I truly believe that inspiration for your wedding can be found anywhere and everywhere. One of my new daily reads and blog loves is Poppy Haus. There is amazing mix of stories and ideas from the talented Heather Jennings who shares her fab insights on decor, DIY fun, food and life.

One of her recent posts featured a twist on the mason jar that is a huge trend in weddings right now. Before the mason jar leaves the wedding world behind, I see this decor item being used in new and creative ways. I fell a bit in love with this chandelier and can see it hanging in a gorgeous oak tree lighting an outdoor reception. Check out the Etsy site of the chandelier’s designers – Boots N Gus – they have many more amazing ways to light up your life!

Please go explore Poppy Haus and follow Heather’s boards on Pinterest - darn good inspiration!

Wedding Style: Dapper Beaux

You NEED to know about this website. NEED. And let me tell you why…there’s a fancy event coming up, a wedding, a milestone birthday, a family reunion, and you are out shopping for your gent, little or big, and you are SUPER frustrated at all the icky ties that are out there – right?? Whether it be the material, color or pattern, they are just not quite perfect!

Well, that’s where Dapper Beaux comes in – an adorable collection of “handmade trimmings for gents”. This lovely little site links to the Etsy storefront and here you find some fabulous little gems. Or email Dapper Beaux, provide the fabric, and they will make you a custom tie, just for you.

I heard a rumor that they have a ton of amazing vintage fabrics too – can’t wait to see some more pop up on the Etsy shop soon! But no there are no excuses for having the gents all fancy!

Wedding Style: Oscar Worthy Brights

I’ve been a bit timid of the neon brights that have been seen in the fashion world lately but I have to say, I stumbled upon these gorgeous dresses from the fabulous Jason Wu and his Spring 2012 collection and I must say, I wouldn’t mind sporting these frocks! I might need a quick spray tan before donning these gowns for sure though! :)

So excited to see what dresses the Oscars bring out tonight on the red carpet!

What do you think? Can you rock the bright trend? What stars will show the brights tonight?

Real Wedding – Woodside, CA – Emily & Paul

Hello Friends! I have been waiting so long to share today’s real wedding with you all!! It was featured late this afternoon on Style Me Pretty and I really am so very excited about how amazing planning and designing this wedding with Emily and Paul was.

I can’t tell you how much fun these two were as clients, and I hate to call them that, as they are truly now my very good friends. They were a dream to work with and I think I may have to say that I have never had so much fun planning and designing a wedding. I mean come on – when they told me they wanted a ferris wheel and sno-cone cocktails!?! Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that! I will never forget the first day I met Emily – pure joy radiates from this girl – and I thought to myself – I NEED to help her with this wedding! I knew we were destined to be planner and client. Check out the First Look photo of them releasing balloons below – that was Emily’s idea – hiding behind balloons and then letting them go to reveal themselves to each other – it was seriously adorable.

Please hop over to Style Me Pretty to see the full gallery – I just have a small peek here. Also, working with Michael Segal, who is simply incredible behind the camera, was a dream come true.

xoxo

All You Need is Love

Happy Valentine’s Day! Wedding planning can, at times, take the joy out of wedded bliss, so it is important to remember that what truly matters, over the cake, the flowers, the invites, is the love that you share. And when it comes down to it that is what is important – the two of you becoming one and the vows that you share. Remember – all you need is love.

Wedding Decor: Pillow Talk

Happy Wednesday! Wanted to share a little decor secret with you all. I LOVE pillows. Pillows can soften a space, add a pop of much color, or even share a personal detail or two about a couple. The first two photos below are from our past weddings, picking up the hints of white and deep orange in the outdoor cocktail space at Hans Fahden Vineyards. The second is the benches along the reception area at Elliston Vineyards, creates a pop of color and brings in a key detail that was used throughout the wedding, sharing the couple’s love of vintage furniture and keys.

This last photo below, was a find in one of my fav new furniture companies – Ballard Designs. Loving how sweet these pillows could be on a chairs or a bench at the head table – and then fab for re-use back at the couple’s pad!

Wedding Decor: Pretty Paper

Paper has started to take over some major details in wedding decor. We’ve seen poms that dangle and add pretty pops of color, we’ve seen gorgeous ceremony backdrops of flowing paper strands, and lovely little details such as fun place cards but what if the clothing were all paper?

I know, not necessarily realistic for a bride moving about her wedding day, but I had to share this stunning piece of art. A fun short party dress that makes a statement.

Happy Monday!

Wedding Style: Private Label

Having a personal love of my label maker, I geeked out a bit when I stumbled across this fantastical site: Labeley! Personalization is a huge part of your wedding, and I love when couples want to give favors that have meaning to them. A lot of my couples over the past few years have done some sort of alcohol as a parting gift, whether it was a sample from their family winery or a split of their fav champers for guests to take home.

This fab little site I found allows you to create the coolest custom labels! Take a peek – so many options!! The site also posts some of the latest and greatest labels, I was loving these three that were recently posted:

Kinda nifty right? Think of all the options!
Ok, have fun labeling!
